Daikin Applied is now hiring for an Environmental Health & Safety Intern in Owatonna, MN!

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Health & Safety Intern to join our dynamic EHS team. Location: Owatonna, MN – In manufacturing plant 5 days per week 

 

Timeline: This Internship opportunity is for May-August 2025

What you will do: 

Complete basic Industrial Hygiene monitoring including noise assessment and ergonomic force measurements  Conduct a basic ergonomic assessment of workstations and operations  Perform basic risk assessments (Job Safety Analysis, etc.) of manufacturing operations to identify hazards and implement effective controls  Participate in EHS inspections (wastewater, stormwater, satellite storage areas, etc.) and improve protocols and checklists for process improvement  Assist in New Hire Environmental Health and Safety Orientation  

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

Undergraduate student currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree  Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Sophomore or Junior currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Engineering, or a similar degree program  Experience in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)   

 

Work Environment: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 

Physical Demands: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, climb, or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
