Jon Summary: 

Trane Technologies is hiring a Regional Environmental Health and Safety Specialist for our Pacific Southwest Region!  This critical business partner is responsible for the promotion and maintenance of the area environmental safety and health program. We are looking for a great communicator who will be successful at building relationships both on site with our field technicians, and in our offices with our operations & leadership teams.  The individual will be located within one of our California area offices. The Regional EHS Specialist will be primarily focused in California, which will include travel to job sites and offices.

The EHS specialist can be based out of our Brea, Rocklin or San Diego, CA office. Additionally, the Regional EHS Specialist will provide additional support which includes potential travel within the entire region - AZ, CA, HI, NM, NV and West TX.   

What you will do:   

Responsibilities:

Assist with leading and coordinating safety process efforts in the commercial sales / service office as directed by the Regional EHS Leader.Conduct inspections, risk assessments and jobsite visits with technicians at customer sites, both service and contracting.Ensure all safety, occupational health and environmental related records are accurately maintained and in compliance with Cal/OSHA, Federal/OSHA, DOT, provincial, state or other regulatory agency rules and regulations and Trane procedures.Implement Trane safety policies and procedures to be followed by company personnel.  Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.Analyze safety data to coordinate the safety effort for continual improvement.  Participate in department Lean processes including Regional EHS A3.Assist in development and conduct annual safety training in assigned area offices, to include all regional employeesConduct new-hire safety training in assigned areas.  Purchase required PPE, conduct in-person high-risk training and assign online training as determined by the business and regional training plan.Ensure that regional training, Qualified Person, PPE and inspection databases are updated and maintained.Participate on corporate teams as needed to assist in the development of safety policies and procedures.Coordinate and lead the Safety Committees in assigned areas and complete action items in a timely manner.Participate in investigation of injuries, near misses, incidents and accidents and ensures corrective actions are implemented and completed.Utilize company EHS platform, Gensuite, as directed to assign and monitor inspections, concern and near miss reports, Action Tracking System items and generate various reports as directed.Assist with overseeing the administration of workers' compensation program, including working with the insurance carrier and administering the return-to-work program.Assist in evaluation of contractors as part of the regional contractor qualification program.

What you will bring: 

Qualifications:

Extensive knowledge of Cal/OSHA requirements (required)General knowledge of Federal OSHA, EPA, MSHA, DOT, as regionally appropriate.Background in applying EHS principles within a service or construction industry (required)Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental or Safety Sciences/Engineering, or related field (required).A minimum 3+ years of practical environmental health and safety management experience at a medium-large site preferred required.One or more safety-related professional certifications is desired (i.e. CSP, CIH, CHSM).Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to:
 -DUI in previous 5 years
 -Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.Ability to motivate, engage and influence others.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including written and verbal in English. Bi-lingual is an asset.Demonstrated ability to adapt well to face-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction and strategy.Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, and ability to work in a team environment.Able to and comfortable with climbing ladders and stairs, work at heights and perform duties in hot and cold environments. Sites include office settings, construction sites, rooftops, warehouses, manufacturing plants, etc.Comfortable working with field technicians, presenting training material to large audiences, as well as communicating with leaders in the organization

This role has been designated as Remote within a Geography.  While most work can be done remotely, there are geographical travel and time-zone considerations. Shared touch-down workspace available on-site. *The Company reserves the right to modify this designation should business needs require. 

This role has been designated by the Company as Safety Sensitive.

Compensation:

 

Base Pay Range: $ 110,000-130,000 Annually 

Total compensation for this role will include an incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
