Environmental Heavy Machine Operator

Position Overview: The Environmental Technician will provide critical support to the heavy machine operator by assisting with flagging, ensuring site safety, and maintaining clear communication with the client using phone, WhatsApp, or Kakao Talk. Additionally, the technician will be responsible for environmental protection measures, including roll off dumsters, storm drain filter installations, tank identification, and spill management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operator Assistance & Flagging

· Assist the heavy machine operator with flagging to ensure safe and efficient operations.

· Monitor site conditions and direct equipment movement to prevent hazards.

· Coordinate traffic flow around heavy machinery and work zones.

· Use radio communication to relay instructions between the operator and site personnel.

2. Client Communication & Coordination

· Maintain ongoing communication with the client regarding environmental and safety concerns.

· Utilize phone, WhatsApp, or Kakao Talk for real-time updates and reporting.

· Address client inquiries regarding environmental protection measures and compliance requirements.

· Follow up with the Environmental log sent daily by the customer confirm which are priority and start with those and work down the list.

3. Environmental Protection Measures

· Install and maintain filters over storm drains to prevent contamination.

· Identify and label tanks and containers used on-site for accurate tracking and compliance.

· Conduct routine site inspections to ensure environmental controls are in place and functioning correctly.

· Conduct routine site inspections of dumpsters and report over filled dumpsters for removal.

· Ensure trash shoots are clear for easy trash removal from the FAB.

· Clean up and trash left on sides or that has fallen out of the dumpsters.

4. Spill Management & Cleanup

· Identify, report, and clean small spills promptly to minimize environmental impact.

· Support larger spill response efforts by coordinating with site safety teams and external cleanup crews.

· Maintain a log of all spills, their causes, and corrective actions taken.

5. Safety & Compliance

· Follow all company and regulatory environmental safety protocols.

· Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices.

· Ensure all environmental procedures align with OSHA and site-specific guidelines.

Equipment & Tools:

· Radio communication devices for coordination with the operator.

· Spill kits and absorbent materials for quick response to leaks and spills.

· Storm drains filters and labeling tools for compliance measures.

Shift & Working Hours:

· Primary work hours to align with heavy machine operation schedules.

· Monday thru Saturday 7am-4pm. Shift and hours are subject to change based on the customer’s request.

· Must be available for emergency spill response and urgent environmental concerns while on site.

Reporting & Documentation:

· Maintain detailed records of storm drain installations, tank identifications, and spill incidents. Update the log daily.

· Submit daily reports on environmental conditions and any incidents to environmental secai management team.

· Coordinate with Secai to improve environmental protection strategies.
