Scope
This is an exciting opportunity for you to work in one of General Motor’s premiere plants. As a Environmental Leader, you will design and implement environmental programs that allow you to collaborate with a diverse group of professionals to manage environmental compliance and conformance. We are currently looking for talented individuals who have a passion for the environment and who want to assist making Ramos Complex a leader in environmental compliance and sustainability.
As an Environmental Leader, you will be working in an exciting manufacturing environment and lead a team fulfilling GM’s Zero, Zero, Zero Vision. As a valued member within the Sustainability team, your role is focused on providing technical expertise, developing strategies, team development and looking ahead for the future success of GM.
Key responsibilities
Provide results in a manner that is truthful and demonstrates strength of character.Focus on driving consistent environmental stewardship programs in support of GM’s mission to deliver sustainable solutions that improve the communities in which we live and work.Lead your team members to success through delegation of responsibilities.Build bridges by engaging with our Business Partners and other Environmental Leaders to enable success for the organization, ensuring the achievement of Business Plan goals and objectives, as well as meeting regulatory compliance requirements.Engage with Federal (eg. SEMARNAT, PROFEPA, CONAGUA), Regional (eg. SMA, PROPAEC) and local regulatory agencies to ensure implementation of robust environmental programs and to build relationships that support innovation and expedient resolution of concerns.Develop creative solutions to complex environmental challenges.Utilize technology and information to develop and maintain environmental management systems in support of GM’s mission to deliver data driven solutions that allow us to operate efficiently now and in the future.Monitor environmental parameters and progress to provide recommendations for continuous improvement. Support and improve system designs that preserve the environment, integrate the latest technologies and provide long-term environmental solutions.Demonstrate a culture of inclusion by actively listening, embracing change and educating others to work effectively together while providing environmental training and coaching.Speak up to ensure we are doing the right thing for the right reasons.Grow to understand the plant manufacturing systems including production processes, wastewater discharges, air emissions impacts, sewer systems, chemical usage, and waste management/recycling programs, to ensure effective decision-making and regulatory compliance.Interface with business partners and regulatory agencies to prepare required regulatory documentation and reports, schedule and perform compliance testing.Role model and reinforce our vision, mission, drives and behaviors that cultivate our cultural transformation.Additional Job DescriptionRequired Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree with a major in engineering or related sciences with emphasis on environmental engineering.
-Required experience in similar position: Over 4 years of experience
-English Level: Intermediate- Advanced.
