Essential Responsibilities
Directing all aspects of Ledcor's environmental program for the Project Work, including overseeing the environmental auditing programEnsuring environmental issues and requirements are met in accordance with the Design-Builder’s Environmental Obligations.Establishing and maintaining working relationships with relevant Project team members, Client’s Representatives, Environmental Authorities and Interested PartiesTaking a lead role in internal environmental design reviews including development of mitigations and corrective actions, acceptable accordance with the Design-Builder’s Environmental Obligations and Environmental RegulationsImplementing the Environmental Management Plan and monitoring and verifying the Project’s compliance with the requirements of such planImplementing environmental quality management systems and procedures in collaboration with the Quality Manager responsible for the Environmental Quality Management PlanPreparing and submitting to the Client's Representative all plans, reports and documents required by Design-Builder’s Environmental Obligations.Developing, managing and implementing plans and practices to address project environmental requirementsQualifications
10 or more years of relevant experience in project management and environmental management, including two years of experience with major projects in light rail transit construction and urban settings;Have current registration with appropriate governing body such as Alberta Institute of Agrologists (AIA), Alberta Society of Professional Biologists (ASPB), Association of the Chemical Profession of Alberta (ACPA), Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals in Alberta (ASET), or College of Alberta Professional Foresters (CAPF); 10+ years of combined education and experience in the delivery/management of an environmental compliance programDemonstrated experience submitting applications and operating under relevant federal and provincial permitsBackground in developing, monitoring and auditing environmental practices and performanceKnowledge of relevant environmental and waste legislation, standards, and effective industry practicesKnowledge of construction site erosion and sedimentation controls and BMP’sEffective communication, conflict resolution and organization skillsMust possess effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to coordinate the efforts of others to accomplish objectivesStrong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesWork Conditions
Field responsibilities throughout the year in varying weather and site conditionsAvailability to work occasional evenings or weekendsMust reside in the Edmonton Area or willing to relocateAdditional Information
