The Environmental Project Management Specialist, Infrastructure Projects is responsible for providing environmental project management and/or technical expertise on environmental aspects associated with project development during environmental assessment and permitting, and post-assessment phases for phases for assigned projects within Infrastructure Projects – Regulatory and Consultation Programs (IPRCP). Environmental aspects include broad environmental mitigation, environmental management plans, regulatory compliance, and follow-up programs. **What you do:** As a key member of the Project Team, working together with the VFPA team and the consultant team, this position provides technical expertise and consultation advice for assigned projects + Act as day-to-day lead onenvironmental aspects of assigned projects ensuring VFPA expectations andinterests are continually met + Critically review and evaluatedeliverables in line with agreed budget and objectives of the task in hand + Solicit expert advice on technicalenvironmental issues, and provide regular progress updates and communicateemerging issues + Participate inthe development of terms of reference for environmental studies and prepare, asrequired, requests for proposal for selection of specialist consultants orcontractors to support the assigned project + Prepare project planningdocumentation including scope, schedule, budget, communication, changemanagement and stakeholder engagement, and risks + Collaborate with project teams todetermine the best approach and activities necessary for executing specificprojects, and ensure the approach is documented and followed + Work with the project team, and asrequired specialist consulting team members ,and contribute to themonitoring of the scope of work on environmental mitigation, and field workplanimplementation and evaluate progress against deliverables + Provide VFPA representation at ProjectTeam meetings and meetings with environmental regulatory agencies, community,Indigenous groups and other stakeholders, where tact and diplomacy will berequired to facilitate competing priorities to ensure VFPA interests aremet + Prepare project status updates andpresentations, as required + Coordinate and participate in postproject reviews and document process improvement recommendations + Coordinate and participate inenvironmental management, monitoring and follow-up programs as requiredfor assigned projects + Carry out general officeresponsibilities as maybe required, including research, reports, presentationsand contract administration of consultants + Participate in internal and externalcommittees **What you bring:** + Bachelor of Science or anotheracceptable university degree + Minimum of 5 years of projectmanagement experience with environmental assessment (or recentenvironmental practice) and technical requirements on large capitalinfrastructure projects, preferably within marine or port environments + Experience in design andimplementation of environmental study programs and familiarity with bothfederal and provincial environmental regulations and jurisdiction would bean asset + Particular experience working onFisheries Act Authorization Applications would be an advantage + Demonstrated schedule, cost andrisk management skills are required.
