Environmental Project Professional
Job Description

We are looking for an environmental scientist or geologist to provide project coordination, data review, data analysis, report writing, and some oversight in the field on active remediation systems. The individual will conduct assignments primarily in an office setting, but some field work is required. The Project Professional will be expected to provide final draft reports and/or engineering design documents to the Project Manager or Project Director for deliverables for private and municipal clients. The Project Professional will serve as a delegated authority on one or more projects and should exercise independent judgment to complete tasks with little to no direction from management.

ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and manage field work for multiple projects.Lead, mentor, and manage junior level staff.Delegate portions of project deliverables to junior staff for completion.Record data during field work, including soil characteristics, lithology, groundwater or surface water data, photographs, or summaries of visual observations through photographs and written field logs.Evaluate and interpret data recorded during field work for reporting purposes and to determine future project needs with or without guidance from the Project Manager.Complete engineering calculations, including the use of applicable modeling programs as needed.Coordinate and review drawing/plan set preparation.Conduct and document construction quality assurance observations to ensure compliance with construction documents.Communicate with clients for field work coordination, project updates, reporting, design document status, permitting status, and meetings.Prepare budgets and schedules for client projects and manage budgets, invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and scheduling for client projects.Write and prepare reports such as proposals, Phase I, Phase II, Soil Management Plan, Dust Control Plan, environmental site assessment, emission, groundwater, and compliance reporting.Lead applicable permit processing and regulatory agency coordination efforts.Complete quality control reviews on all work products before submission.Participate in health and safety training as required.Review technical documents to ensure completeness and conformance to requirements.Serve as a resource for junior staff and assist them in resolving project-specific issues.Essential Skills2+ years of environmental remediation and site assessment experience.Experience with project coordination, environmental science, geology, soil sampling, Hazwoper certification, report writing, hazardous waste management, environmental compliance, water sampling.Advanced skills in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).High attention to detail.Advanced health and safety knowledge.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Advanced problem-solving skills.Mastery of field testing equipment.Mastery of reading and understanding engineering design plans.Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory agencies and codes.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Science from an accredited institution.Preferably on track for a PG or PE License (if degree eligible).Coordination/project management level remediation experience, including data review, data analysis, report writing, and coordinating field work on active remediation systems.Valid Driver’s License.Knowledge of Deltek, project financials, purchase orders, invoicing, project budgets, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.Ability to troubleshoot field testing equipment and solve issues.Understanding of scientific concepts such as physics, statistics, chemistry, mathematics, and geosciences.Ability to use basic hand tools such as a hammer, screwdriver, etc.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.87
