Summary As the Hazardous Materials program manager and TSCA expert with the Environmental Services Division, you will be responsible for the implementation of the Hazardous Material program according to NASA Procedural Requirements (NPRs), policies, procedures, and regulatory Requirements. Responsible for implementing TSCA regulations. Provide guidance to support contract personnel, interface with development, planning and development personnel, and federal, state, and local regulatory agencies. Responsibilities Act as Center Subject Matter Expert and implement the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) Section 6 requirements incorporating them into the Center’s hazardous materials program. Oversee and collaborate with the installation of the Agency Hazardous Materials Management System. Ensure organizational compliance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and other federal, state, and local regulations related to hazardous materials. Provide leadership in developing and implementing center-wide or agency-wide hazardous materials training programs for hazardous materials users at Ames Research Center. Act as a key point of contact for external regulatory agencies during audits, inspections, and consultations. Foster a culture of engagement, diversity, inclusiveness, excellence and innovation. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level: Interpreting and Implementing the Toxic Substance Control Act, Section 6, regulations; Utilizing and implementing Hazardous Materials Management System; Overseeing or working with Hazardous Materials Management Program.
