Noblis supports the Department of Defense (DoD) in the technical evaluation and oversight of the environmental restoration program and management of complex sites and remediation technologies. Noblis provides technical support in DoD legacy and emerging issues, including per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) programmatic planning; geologic, hydrologic, and contaminant fate and transport conceptual site model assessment; remedial investigation recommendations; remedial technology design and evaluation; regulatory and policy issues; and life-cycle adaptive restoration management. Our team of senior experts work closely with DoD managers in developing and implementing processes to ensure that environmental remediation progress is successfully proceeding to meet program objectives.
The Environmental Remediation Subject Matter Expert (SME) provides technical and program level support to various federal client organizations and agencies in the area of environmental engineering, environmental planning, and environmental remediation. The Remediation SME’s responsibilities include:
Evaluating environmental site conditions and developing remediation strategies and technology approaches related to all contaminated media for emerging (e.g., PFAS) and legacy contaminantsDeveloping design, construction, operation, and monitoring requirements for remediation systemsEvaluating environmental remediation technology performance and determining recommended optimization improvementsDeveloping, analyzing, and selecting of remedial alternatives and exit strategies Writing technical reports of complex technical analysisProviding quality assurance oversight of program activities and work productsEvaluating of costsProviding technical / program level support, including development of execution strategies. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology or equivalent field is required. Minimum of 15 years of experience.Masters and Minimum of 12 years relevant experience OR PhD and 8 years of experience preferredAbility to travel up to 25% domestically.U.S. Citizenship required.Expertise in designing, constructing, operating environmental remediation systems. Deep understanding or technical expertise of remediation technologies is required. Examples include: In situ biologic or abiotic remediation Ex situ separation and destruction technologiesPFAS destruction technologies and other PFAS innovative technologiesHigh resolution site characterization technologies Expertise in environmental engineering and PFAS issues and the impact on DOD, with a focus in technology evaluation and implementation. Expertise in surface water, storm water, and drinking water distribution systems. Experience evaluating and developing Conceptual Site Models and data gap analysis for complex restoration sitesDemonstrated recognized technical expertise in an important area of environmental remediation or investigation technologiesTechnical thought leadershipAbility to think independently, to work in group environments, to lead tasks with minimal oversight, and to represent Noblis and our clients in a variety of highly visible and often technically complex circumstances. Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, technical writing, and interpersonal skills. Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.
