What is the Opportunity?
As part of an alliance agreement Aecon Nuclear has been awarded a contract with Ontario Power Generation to support the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP). Beginning in 2023 Aecon will support the validation phase design, procurement, early site preparation and site mobilization scope for the Construction of the Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor at the Darlington site.
The Environmental Safety Co-op is a highly motivated self starter who will assist in various areas of our project, epending on business requirements. Please note, this is a 4 month work term.
What You'll Do Here:
Assist with the ongoing implementation and continual improvement of the environmental management system, components, programs, and associated documentation. Assists in the preparation of monthly environmental performance dashboards including metrics and KPIs as well as data required to support the Corporate Sustainability program. Assists in the tracking of environmental training completion. Assists in the completion and tracking of environmental inspections. Supports the Environmental Manager in the development and updates of Environmental Management Plans. Supports the EHS audit process of selected projects as identified and required by the Senior EHS Management Team. Provide general administrative support to the Environmental Manager, including but not limited to, research and document management/creation.
What You Bring to the Table:
Currently enrolled in a university or college degree/diploma in environment-related field. Valid G License and access to a vehicle. Knowledge of environmental management systems is an asset Proficient use of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and Outlook Strong verbal and written communication skills including experience in preparing reports. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are required Ability to be self-motivated and work effectively with minimal direction Effective organizational skills to meet multiple deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a high-pressure work environment Collaborative team approach and ability to build successful working relationships with clients and project teams
