Job Description
As an Environmental Scientist, you will be engaged in a diverse range of projects and field work assignments. You will provide both field work and office support for site investigations and environmental inspections. Under the guidance of associate staff, you will assist in field work tasks for ongoing projects throughout the five boroughs, as well as in the preparation of project planning documents, data evaluation, and report preparation. You will work efficiently both individually and as part of project teams, ensuring that all contractual and regulatory deadlines are met.
ResponsibilitiesAssist with field work tasks for ongoing projects throughout the five boroughs under the guidance of associate staff.Provide support for site investigations and environmental inspections.Assist in the preparation of project planning documents, data evaluation, and report preparation.Work efficiently both individually and on project teams.Track and meet contractual and regulatory deadlines.Essential SkillsBachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field.4+ years of experience with field work investigations and inspections.Experience with environmental sampling and inspections.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.40-hour HAZWOPER certification.NYCDEP Asbestos Investigator License.OSHA 10 certification.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working with clients and subcontractors.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work efficiently both individually and as part of a team.Work Environment
You will be part of a team consisting of 10-15 Environmental Scientists and Inspectors. This field-based position involves working on projects throughout New York City and the five boroughs, primarily reporting to Associate Environmental Scientists. You will work on NYC Agency projects, engaging in field sampling and inspections. The office is located in Midtown, New York, fostering a fun culture with opportunities for growth, learning from experienced associate staff, and participating in social outings and happy hours.
