Dewberry is currently seeking qualified applicant for the role of Environmental Scientist for our New York City office. The ideal candidate will be familiar with ecosystem restoration projects, have experience with invasive species management, ecological restoration, regulatory permitting, and have experience working with ArcGIS Pro and Field Maps. Experience with ecology and hazard mitigation in urban areas is preferred.

Responsibilities Conduct and/or oversee field surveys such as focused species surveys, aquatic resources delineations, and habitat assessmentsPrepare technical reports such as biological resources evaluations, aquatic resources delineations, mitigation plans, and annual monitoring reports.Assist in biological resources sections of CEQR, SEQRA and NEPA documents.Assist in regulatory permit application packages.Prepare Biological and Ecological Assessments on natural systems in urban settings.Assist with mentoring and training of junior staff.Interact with clients. Required Skills & Required ExperienceRequired Education and Experience:
BS in Biology, Natural Resources, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.2+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a large metropolitan area such as New York City, Los Angeles and others.Required Skills:
Excellent written and oral communication skills.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects with critical timelines.Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail.Proficient with MS Office suite (e.g., Word, Teams, Excel, Projects), Adobe Acrobat, ArcGIS Pro.Ability for periodic travel necessary to support field surveys and/or project meetings.Valid driver's license and good driving record required.*At this time, Dewberry will not sponsor a new applicant for work authorization.

Salary Range
The projected range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for NY only.
