Your OpportunityStantec is seeking an enthusiastic entry level environmental scientist to join our team of environmental professionals. The position will assist in the completion of project level work to support remediation projects for industrial and oil & gas clients across the United States. Primary responsibilities will be related to performing key tasks to support environmental assessment field work and reporting.
Your Key Responsibilities Sampling of environmental media including soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, air, soil vapor Field work preparation tasks including contacting subcontractors, vendors, private and public utility locates Assist with and prepare portions of written reports, tables, spreadsheets, and maps for client and regulatory agency review Work will be conducted under the supervision of a project manager or a field team leader Willingness to travel and conduct field work for extended periods, including overnight travel, is expected for this position. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Your Capabilities and Credentials The ability to effectively communicate project status to project manager and appropriate staff Strong technical writing skills A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Ability to pass drug test, background check, physical, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving policy The ability to work independently Must be an advocate for the company’s and client’s health and safety programs.
