Environmental Senior Project Manager

**This Opportunity**
WSP is currently initiating a search for an **Environmental Senior Project Manager** with the potential to work out of **Redmond, WA; Seattle, WA; or Tacoma, WA** . Be involved in projects with our **Federal Environmental Team** and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
Take part in providing senior leadership and guidance to cross-discipline environmental teams from the Pacific Northwest and beyond in support of the design, development, and implementation of environmental site investigation and cleanup programs for Federal clients in the Pacific Northwest.
This position will include serving as a Senior Project Manager overseeing the development and execution of a variety of tasks in support of WSP’s portfolio of environmental programs for Federal clients. Tasks will include managing and overseeing the execution of large field investigations performed in a variety of environments, including logistically-challenging urban/industrial sites and remote backcountry sites; coordinating with and overseeing WSP’s technical and design teams supporting Remedial Designs/Remedial Actions (RD/RAs) at contaminated sites (e.g., CERCLA and RCRA Sites), spanning initial pre-design investigations through RA/project closeout; and serving as a senior leader responsible for organizing and managing technical teams, assuring projects are delivered and adhered to with a focus on quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards and project requirements for design, safety, and functionality.
Work will primarily include office assignments, but some travel is likely, including overnight stays, to support project management, client management, and business development needs.
**Your Impact**
+ This position will encompass project management for all phases of contaminated site management, including site investigation and assessment; development and implementation of large-scale sample collection programs (including specification of analytical methodologies); data evaluation and reporting of sample programs assessing soil, groundwater, estuarine and marine surface waters, and sediments; and development and oversight of RD/RA activities.
+ This position will involve overseeing field work, including oversight of third-party subcontractor operations and performance, review of technical reports and collaboration with other technical professionals, review of data compilation and manipulation utilizing MS Excel®, MS Access®, JMP and R, and reviewing spatial analyses performed using ArcGIS to support data interpretation and technical analyses.
+ Fulfillment of this role will involve supporting senior leadership’s business development objectives by managing and executing the day-to-day functional tasks for high-profile task orders with a focus on the client’s needs; developing deeper and broader relationships with WSP’s Federal clients through direct client interactions to support WSP’s business strategy; and assisting senior leadership in the pursuit of new business opportunities.
+ Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures which pertain to activities including, but not limited to, collection of site characterization data, engineering studies and surveys, and the design of remedial construction activities.
+ Complete required training and implement lessons learned on assigned tasks.
+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds and resources and personal conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
+ Perform additional related responsibilities as required by business needs.
**Who You Are**
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or closely related discipline such as Environmental Chemistry. Master’s degree is preferred but not required.
+ 10+ years of relevant post-education experience demonstrating progressively more complex involvement in the execution and management of environmental cleanup programs for Federal clients (e.g., USACE, USEPA, DoD).
+ Due to client requirements, US citizenship is required.
+ Have strong familiarity with environmental chemistry/geochemistry (both organic and inorganic) and investigating various environmental media, including soil, groundwater, marine/estaurine surface waters and sediments.
+ Have demonstrated experience in managing people and projects, including leading multi-discipline technical teams to deliver and meet the client’s needs.
+ Significant knowledge of the relevant provisions of CERCLA (Superfund), RCRA, and Washington State’s MTCA and SMS regulations.
+ Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing (orally and in written form) ideas effectively and professionally to engineering and non-engineering audiences.
+ Self-starter with a strong attention to detail, flexibility with multi-tasking, and competency in prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
+ Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as to function as part of a team, to meet business objectives.
+ Proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
+ Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek (overtime and weekend work is possible).
+ Ability to perform field assignments that may involve lifting and carrying heavy objects and walking on uneven terrain is required.
+ Flexibility for occasional travel, depending on project-specific requirements.
+ Must be able to pass a HAZWOPER physical and be medically able to wear a tight-fitting respirator.
+ Relevant professional accreditations or certifications, including Project Management Professional (PMP), Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification or ability to obtain, with desire to pursue licensing, or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) / Professional Geologist (PG) or similar.
+ Experience with applications in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Masters (MS or MEng) is desirable.
+ Knowledge of construction cost estimating and construction processes is a plus, as is experience in dredging of contaminated sediments.
+ Experience with using graphical and statistical analysis software beyond standard MS Excel® (for example, JMP® software, R statistical software, and the Analysis ToolPak® add-in to MS Excel®) is a plus.
+ Intermediate or advanced skills with geographic information systems (e.g., ArcGIS) is a plus.
+ HAZWOPER 40-hour training is desirable.
+ Familiarity with a range of environmental practices including design and implementation of site investigations and sampling programs to assess sites impacted by hazardous or solid waste; application of remedial approaches to mitigate contamination of water and land resources; and collection of environmental monitoring data to assess remedial performance. Specialized knowledge in one or more of these areas is desired,

Compensation
Expected Salary (all locations): $125,200-$180,200
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
