ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICE STAFF

The Environmental Service Staff is responsible for taking care of the housekeeping needs of the shelter program. This responsibility includes the service of the daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of the facilities. The goal of this position is to maintain the highest quality of cleanliness and help the environment stay as aesthetically appealing as possible for our clients, visitors and personnel.

 

Responsibilities:

Report all abnormal or unsafe conditions observed on your shift to a Department Supervisor through appropriate channels (direct communication, voice mail, work orders, etc.) Disinfect bathrooms, telephones, and beds as needed and directed. Clean classrooms, cafeterias, lounges, offices, therapy rooms, utility rooms, workstations, common areas, and recreational areas including entrances, exits, elevators, gyms, hallways, stairwells, walls, floors, furniture, fixtures, windows, curtains, water fountains, etc. Perform general cleaning and housekeeping tasks according to policies and procedures. Complete deep cleaning procedures when needed or directed.  Prepare a housekeeping utility cart with sufficient supplies for all tasks and make sure they are safe and secure at all times when in client areas.  Perform any duties requested by the position’s supervisor to insure a safe and clean environment for all campus personnel and visitors.

 

Qualifications (Education, Training and Experiences)

1. Ability to fluently converse and/or write in both English and Spanish preferred.

2. Possession of basic computer knowledge and skills preferred.

3. Valid driver’s license preferred, CPR/First Aid certification required (can be obtained during new hire orientation).

4. Must be at least 21 years of age or older

5. High school Diploma or equivalent required. Verified educational level for those educated outside of the USA.
