Job Overview:
The Project Worker is responsible for performing hard floor and carpet care projects, following project calendar, cleaning, and maintaining equipment. This position will also be performing various other tasks to aid the other departments that make up Hospitality Services.
The Environmental Services Worker is responsible for a 7-step cleaning process in patient care areas and other areas of the hospital. In this cleaner role you are responsible for following infection control guidelines and for providing a safe and sanitary environment for all. This position may also be called upon to aid the other departments that make up Hospitality Services.
Main Responsibilities:
• Collects waste in assigned areas within schedule time
• Dry and damp mop floors in assigns areas.
• Clean all equipment and return to appropriate area at end of shift.
• Understands the inspection process and follows up with recommendations.
• Follows the cares training program when interacting with patients and nurses.
• Demonstrates correct procedures for scrubbing and refinishing hard floors.
• Carpet care procedures are followed, and proper spotting methods are used.
• Responsible for small furniture moves, meeting set-ups and communicates if there are any concerns.
• Able to fill in for job assignments following the 7 steps of cleaning.
• Maintains project equipment room cleanliness
• Reports any and all types of mechanical issues
Skills & Abilities:
1. Ability to read simple instructions, write, and speak basic English.
2. Ability to operate simple mechanical devices such as floor rotos, vacuums, compactors, etc.
3. Familiarity with operation of heavy duty, electrical cleaning equipment.
4. Ability to interact with other hospital staff members, visitors, and patients in a friendly, cooperative manner.
