Req ID 72538 | OSS Mesa, United States ZF Passive Safety Systems US Inc. **1st shift (6:00am - 2:30pm)** **GENERAL SUMMARY: Performs a variety of non-repetitive tasks in controlling and monitoring of chemicals within the manufacturing production organization in accordance with Federal, State and local regulations such as EPA Clean Water Act and DOT Toxic Substances Control Act.** **ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Monitors chemicals, related equipment, and waste system indicators. + Makes chemical and equipment adjustments to ensure proper system functioning and chemical solution balance. + Removes and disposes of waste chemicals, solvents and acids. + Inspects hazardous waste production and storage units. + Must have good understanding of chemicals (acids, bases, oxidizers, flammables, reducers, water-reactives) in a variety of forms (liquids, solids, gases, sludges, slurries) and related incompatibilities to prevent undesirable chemical reactions. + Maintain operational logs; Prepares required reports to regulatory agencies. + Must drive and operate large tanker truck. + Perform regulatory inspections. + Treat waste water and handle hazardous waste and scrap propellant Ability: Must be able to be certified on forklift, respirator, Emergency response, and HAZCOM systems. Must be able to perform and/or pass, Fire Extinguisher training, Emergency Response training, 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations training. Education: Certificate in Environmental Waste Management preferred, High School Diploma or GED required. Experience: Six months experience within manufacturing environment or equivalent, handling hazardous waste materials or chemicals preferred. Physical Requirements: Prolonged period(s) of standing may be required. Must be able to lift, push or pull 40 lbs regularly and perform continuous, active, physical effort. Work may require the use of specialized safety equipment. Must be able to work outdoors in summer temps, confined spaces and in required PPE. Must pass the drug screen requirement which includes testing for THC. ZF-Lifetec Mesa Operations screening process includes a substance abuse screening test, ATF lifetime background check, and verification of eligibility for employment. **U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident Status Required.
