Job Summary
Accountable for maintaining an assigned area of the Hospital in a sanitary, orderly fashion. This position is expected to report any defects or repairs needed to maintain the physical appearance of the Hospital and its grounds. Employee may access secure medication supply areas to complete assigned job duties.
Responsibilities
1. Dust mop and wet mop hard floor surfaces with disinfectant solution according to department floor maintenance procedures.
2. Complete proper cleaning and disinfection procedures according to the assignments and/or area.
3. Interact with patients and patient environment while performing duties.
4. Remove waste following the proper Waste Handling and Waste Removal procedures and safety protocols.
5. Engagement with the department goals for improvement of quality to include feedback and knowledge of current status of measured goals.
6. Remove wax finish from hard floor surfaces, reapply wax finish to hard floor surfaces according to department floor maintenance procedures.
7. Buff hard floor surfaces to maintain appearance.
8. Vacuum carpet using conventional vacuum cleaner or large industrial vacuum cleaner.
9. Buff carpet as required per predetermined schedules and areas not scheduled as requested.
10. Extract carpet/furniture as required per predetermined schedule and areas not scheduled as requested.
11. Have knowledge and skill to determine what supplies are needed and how to use requested cleaning supplies.
12. Use iPod applications for patient room discharge cleaning to report timely for patient flow system.
13. Report equipment repairs needed and clean equipment after use upon return to the department.
14. Set up meeting rooms per request of schedule.
15. Perform duties as required for Environmental Services Tech responsibilities.
16. Move furniture as requested.
