Environmental Services Technician - PRN

Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. The hospitals within McLeod Health include: McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon and McLeod Behavioral Health.  

Essential Job Responsibilities/Expectations 1. Job responsibilities include those listed in competencies document 2. Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. 3. Provides a clean and aseptic environment for the safety and health of our patients, visitors, physicians and employees by performing various housekeeping and other duties; such duties include but are not limited to: waste removal; dusting, cleaning and sanitizing of fixtures and surfaces; dust and damp mopping; biohazard spill cleanup; soiled linen removal; cleaning, sanitizing, making of beds and vacuuming. 4. Uses computers for computer-based training, data collection and during routine room turnover operations 5. Keeps records, maintains logs and submits daily activity 6. Reports via schedule worksheets and/or task sequence sheets. 7. Must adhere to hospital and departmental policies and procedures. 8. Must follow applicable regulatory agency laws. 9. Changes out drapes and cubicle curtains. 10. Must be proficient in the proper use of floor and carpet care battery operated and cord electric equipment. 11. Must become proficient in established restorative, interim and routine floor and carpet care procedures. 12. Removes bulk biohazard and solid waste. 13. Performs all other duties as assigned. JOB DESCRIPTION Unlicensed Position Job Requirements Qualifications/Training: Previous hospital/commercial housekeeping or floor technician experience is preferred. Good communication skills and professional telephone etiquette are essential. Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) from an accredited school or successful completion of WIN Testing or completion of McLeod approved Transition to Work Program.
