Job Title: Environmental Specialist
Work Location: Calera, AL
Required PPE:
Hard hat, safety shoes, and high viz vest
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. One to five years of experience in environmental sampling and compliance. The Level 1 Environmental Specialist will be responsible for assisting in environmental compliance, regulatory affairs, and developing and implementing sustainability initiatives. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, minimize environmental impacts, and drive sustainable practices. This position requires a basic knowledge of environmental regulations, project management skills, and the ability to provide environmental collaboration within the organization. Responsibilities: Environmental Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including air quality, water quality, waste management, and hazardous materials handling. Conduct environmental audits and assessments to identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions. Stay updated on evolving environmental regulations and proactively implement necessary changes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability practices into daily operations. Environmental Risk Management: Assess and mitigate environmental risks associated with company operations. Qualifications: Working knowledge and experience with the operation of power boats and watercraft Project management skills with the ability to participate in a team setting on multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders. Proficiency in environmental management software and data analysis tools. This position may require some bending, lifting, climbing, prolonged sitting, prolonged walking, walking on gravel or crawling when necessary.
