You will support our clients by managing their hazardous waste programs & projects, utilizing state & federal regulations. This position reports to the Assistant Lab Services Manager. This role is based onsite at the client company. You will report out of our headquarters in Somerville, MA. The pay for this position is $25/hr with overtime. 

 

Essential responsibilities:

Conduct onsite evaluations to assess and categorize hazardous waste materials. Safely pack and segregate different types of hazardous chemicals and waste for transportation and disposal. Prepare and label containers according to regulatory requirements and company policies. Document and maintain accurate records of waste disposal activities, including manifests and shipping documents. Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies regarding waste management processes. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to hazardous waste handling and transportation. Monitor and maintain inventory of waste materials and supplies needed for waste handling activities. Oversee the physical relocation of hazardous materials, including packing, loading, transportation, and unloading (Lab Moves) Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations involving hazardous materials. Safe operation of Triumvirate commercial vehicle (Class C) while transporting hazardous materials.

Basic Requirements:

BS/BA in Environmental Science or Business-related degree required OR 2+ years of industry, or relative Military experience Valid driver’s license in good standing Ability to work as a member of a team as well as individually Successful completion (upon point of hire) of OSHA/DOT physical examination Willingness to obtain Class C Commercial Driver's License  Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds This is a safety-sensitive position 

Preferred Requirements

Completion of 40 Hour OSHA Hazwoper CPR and First Aid Training Class C or higher Commercial Driver's License Experience in a customer service environment   Familiarity with hazardous waste treatment, storage, and disposal facilities (TSDFs). Knowledge of health and safety practices related to hazardous materials and waste management.
