As an Environmental Stormwater Inspector/Entry-level Wetland Scientist, you will support projects that include inspections of Oil & Gas constructed projects for permit compliance with Best Management Practices for Erosion & Sediment Control, and stream & wetland crossings. This position is available in the Cranberry Township, PA office and will require to travel overnight approximately 20% of the time.
Responsibilities:
Collection and management of data through electronic hand-held devices.Conducts field exploration, sampling, inspection, analysis and technical support as applicable under direct supervision.Write field reports, internal correspondence and sections of formal reports and proposals.Analyze and enter environmental data.Communicate with Kleinfelder staff, subcontractors, and clients. Ensure quality execution of tasks assigned. Participate in Kleinfelder’s safety culture.Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, ecological science, or biology.0-4 years of experience in environmental work focused on wetland delineation. Ability to work with senior staff to help prepare permit documents, environmental reports, correspondence documents, calculations, and conduct analyses.Possess excellent technical writing skills and verbal skills.Skilled in understanding and interpreting regulatory requirements. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in order to engage on multiple projects.Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to work year-round in adverse climate and field conditions.Adaptable to varying work schedules and capable of meeting critical deadlines beyond standard hours. Willingness to travel to West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Ohio with the potential travel in other states (requiring overnight stay).A valid driver’s license.
Preferred Experience/Certifications:
Coursework and/or experience with conducting stream and wetland delineations in accordance with USACE and state protocols. plant and soil identification. Experience using ArgGIS and GPS.Experience with oil and gas pipelines, compressor stations and well pad construction.
