We are seeking an **Environmental Technician (EIR Technician 1)** to join our Pittsburgh, PA team! Come join us!
**Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:**
+ Collect, record, and tabulate environmental monitoring (water, air, and soil) data, including but not limited to geologic, hydrogeologic and geochemical measurements.
+ Collect soil, water, air, and groundwater samples to assess pollution levels.
+ Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, including historical land use evaluation, site reconnaissance, regulatory database review, and report preparation.
+ Perform environmental data field mapping using GPS systems.
+ Operate and maintain various systems, including pumps, electrical equipment, drills, hand-held equipment, sampling equipment, and field data collection meters.
+ Operate and maintain soil and water remediation systems utilizing physical, biological, or chemical treatment technology), including data collection and performance monitoring.
+ Support concrete / asphalt and other construction material sampling and testing, including collection of samples at job sites.
+ Prepare timely and detailed service reports, including mapping of pollutant levels in environmental media based on field testing and laboratory analytical results.
+ Direct and oversee soil boring advancement to investigate subsurface geologic and hydrogeologic conditions, including logging of soil and rock samples, to assess pollution levels.
+ Direct and oversee groundwater monitoring well installation.
+ Assist in preparing field work plans, data tables, environmental mapping, and reports.
**Minimum requirements:**
+ 2-year associate or 4-year bachelor's degree in physical sciences (environmental science, geology, chemistry, biology, etc.), engineering or other technology field.
+ 0 to 2 years of professional experience.
+ Must possess a valid U. S. driver's license.
**Technical requirements:**
+ Familiarity working on electrical systems a plus but not required.
+ Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
+ Experience working independently.
+ ArcGIS skills and experience a plus.
+ Familiarity with SPCC / SWPPP requirements and plans a plus.
+ Concrete / asphalt and other construction material testing skills a plus.
**Other miscellaneous qualities:**
+ Must be willing to travel using company vehicle to local job sites.
+ Able to multi-task and work independently.
+ Possess physical strength, dexterity and stamina. Capable of lifting 50 pounds. Capable of stooping, bending, climbing, and navigating uneven terrain.
+ Writes clearly and informatively, edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively, and able to read and interpret written information.
+ Follow policies and procedures and report unsafe conditions.
+ Adapt to changes in the work environment.
+ Long hours of work when necessary to reach goals.
+ Complete tasks on time and within budget.
+ Undertake self-development activities.
