EOC and Emergency Mgmt Mgr

Job Summary: Responsible for managing all aspects of the Environment of Care (EOC) and Emergency Management (EM) Programs. Provides oversight for monitoring compliance with EOC and EM standards. Plan, coordinate, and manage daily activities of the department. Serves a critical department role for strategy development and provides input to the director in planning, budgeting, cost-control, and operations. Develops training schedules to ensure the EOC and EM programs meet the needs of the organization to achieve TJC/CMS/NFPA/OSHA regulatory standards and a constant state of system safety, preparedness, and readiness. Lead, mentor, guide, and develop department staff to enhance their contributions to the organization. Conducts and participates in meetings, committees, and special work projects to increase organizational effectiveness. Provides direction for conducting assessments in the review of policies, plans, and procedures, and makes recommendations for revisions to maintain system compliance in the Environment of Care and Emergency Management.    Maintains a working relationship with multiple departments and functions as a resource to both internal and external stakeholders to steer strategic goals to improve the environment of care, emergency management, system compliance, and work processes. This is a leadership role and has supervisory responsibilities. The EOC and EM Manager will represent CaroMont Health’s Cares Values and adhere to the pillars of High Reliability throughout their daily work routine.    

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, occupational or public health, chemistry, emergency management, or closely related degree and 3-5 years of progressive healthcare leadership required. Master’s degree preferred. Public speaking, presentation and communication skills are essential. Ability to lead people and manage various department needs and balance resources effectively. Experience in emergency management principles and practice, NFPA, life-safety code, building codes, OSHA standards, HAZWOPER, TJC EOC and EM standards and CMS Conditions of Participation. The ability to read, interpret, apply, and explain regulatory information clearly is required. Advanced computer skills with the ability to learn department and organizational programs. Ability to foster collaborative relationships with diverse groups, colleagues, internal and external customers is required. Ability to carry out statistical analysis, interpret, prepare charts, tables, diagrams; and the ability to present data with clarity is required. The ability to write various reports and correspondence for internal and external customers is required. Ability to apply common-sense in executing instructions in written, oral, or diagram form, and the ability to handle issues in standardized and unstable situations is required.
