Job Description
We are seeking a mid-level Construction Manager to join our EPC Management team and support the construction of industrial manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will study drawings and specifications to plan and sequence procurement and construction activities, plan proper construction means and methods, staff projects based on the construction plan, and have knowledge of available tools, equipment, and various construction methods. This is an excellent opportunity for Project Managers, JR Project Managers, or Assistant Project Managers with 5-10 years of experience looking to step up towards a Senior EPC Manager or Senior Project Manager role.
ResponsibilitiesAssist Senior Project Manager in all phases and aspects of the project, including scope, schedule, and budget management.Support Project Managers with reviewing invoices, permitting, drafting language for change orders, and small proposals.Participate in the proposal process and client reports when on-site.Organize and lead scheduling meetings, substitute for Project Managers in certain aspects, and draft execution plans.Assist in the procurement of EPC contracts, including bidding, scoping, and execution.Track budget delivery, schedule, change orders, and purchase agreements.Manage and update project schedules, participate in pre-construction meetings, coordinate subcontractors and vendors, and handle permit inspections.Manage various forms of project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, project meeting minutes, construction documents, and contractual obligations.Estimate, prepare, and negotiate change orders, and write subcontractor change orders.Collaborate with the legal department to ensure agreements and other contractual documents are thoroughly reviewed.Develop and coordinate subcontract agreements as required.Lead the review of technical progress against scope, schedule, and project finances.Facilitate activities of the Program Manager, Senior Project Managers, and other project team members to ensure efficient project delivery.Participate actively in creating a safety culture in the office and at the job site.Serve as Project Site Safety Leader in the absence of a full-time EHS Supervisor.Essential Skills5-10 years of experience in Construction Management or Industrial Engineering Management.Previous experience in industrial manufacturing construction.Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management.Willingness to travel 30% of the time.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.Ability to communicate and sync cross-functionally with various team members, including Project Development, Design, Procurement, Legal, and Finance.Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and enthusiasm to execute projects successfully.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in civil or industrial engineering and construction disciplines.OSHA 30 certification.Experience in site development, mechanical engineering, and engineering management.Personal qualities such as being a result-driven team player and a confident communicator.Work Environment
The home base can be anywhere in the South East or South West, ideally in cities such as Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston, or Phoenix. The role involves working primarily from home but requires traveling to project job sites for client interaction, development under Senior Project Managers, assisting with projects, and site tours. Expected work hours are approximately 50 hours per week, with fluctuations based on project needs. This is a traveling role requiring 30% - 50% travel. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $48.08 - $52.88
