Summary:
The Epic Application Coordinator at Riverside Healthcare is responsible for the implementation, support, and optimization of the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system and any other applications or systems related to their area of Epic expertise. This role involves coordinating with clinical and administrative teams to ensure systems meet the organization’s needs, managing system configurations, and providing end-user support. The Epic Application Coordinator plays a key role in enhancing workflows, ensuring data integrity, and driving system enhancements to improve patient care and operational efficiency. As such, they are responsible for obtaining and maintaining in-depth knowledge of the software functionality and acquiring knowledge of system workflows.
The opportunity to work remotely is dependent on department needs and previous experience. In general, Epic Application Coordinators are expected to work on campus until fully certified, at which point opportunities for hybrid work schedules may become available. Fully remote work may be an option for a candidate with the right experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
System Management: Oversee the configuration, customization, and maintenance of assigned systems, ensuring they align with organizational workflows and requirements. Work within application workgroups and across interdisciplinary workgroups to accomplish these goals as a team.End-User Support: Provide support to clinical and administrative users, addressing system issues, answering questions, and guiding users on best practices. Collaborate with trainers in the design and development of training programs to support implemented workflows.Workflow Analysis: Work with stakeholders to analyze and document current workflows, identifying opportunities for optimization within assigned systems.System Testing and Validation: Coordinate and perform system testing for new features, upgrades, and patches, ensuring functionality and minimizing disruption to operations. Follow established guidelines for testing and change control.Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation, including system configurations, workflow diagrams, and user guides.Compliance and Security: Ensure that all assigned systems comply with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and organizational policies, particularly regarding data security and privacy.System Enhancements: Collaborate with IT and clinical teams to identify, prioritize, and implement system enhancements that improve patient care and efficiency.Vendor Collaboration: Work with vendors to manage system updates, troubleshoot issues, and implement new functionalities.Project Support: Assist in IT and clinical projects, providing subject matter expertise and technical support as required.
