Epic Systems Pharmacist- Willow

Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. The hospitals within McLeod Health include: McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon and McLeod Behavioral Health.  

Essential Job Responsibilities/Expectations

2.    Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. 
3.    Responsible for evaluating, guiding, implementing, and building data systems that support the pharmacy departments through process improvement measures, patient safety enhancement, and improves overall efficiency related to the electronic medication process within Epic.
4.    Serves as an IT department liaison to the pharmacy departments and assists with educating the pharmacy staff on new system functionality and features.
5.    Serves as a liaison regarding system functions to all appropriate clinicians (including, but not limited to, providers and nursing staff).
6.    Knowledgeable in medications and exhibits the clinical and professional skills to positively interact with physicians, nurses, and other health care practitioners in hospital formulary issues, in-services, meetings, etc.
7.    Works collaboratively as a team member with a positive attitude when interacting with other IT teams, the pharmacy departments and other hospital departments and personnel. 
8.    Contributes to the development of the practice of the profession within the institution and participates in the department’s clinical programs as well as participation in IT initiatives and programs.
9.    Requires regular rounding to include staffing in the hospital pharmacy to maintain skills and qualifications.


Job Requirements
Qualifications/Training:
•    EPIC Certification or Accreditation on Willow IP.
•    Minimum of five years of experience as an Acute clinical pharmacist
•    Minimum three years of PC-oriented experience to include basic word processing and spreadsheets.

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education:
•    Must possess a valid license to practice Pharmacy in the state of South Carolina
