*Description* The Department of Neurology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Epileptologistwith 2 years of EEG and/or Epilepsyfellowship trainingat the Assistant/Assocaite Professor, non-tenure track level to join our Epilepsy Division. The Department of Neurology provides evaluation, treatment, and care for patients suffering from a wide range of neurological disorders including stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and migraine. We provide care through our inpatient and consultative services, our designated Comprehensive Stroke Center, our Level 4 Epilepsy Center, our 22-bed Neuro-Critical Care Unit, and our busy outpatient practice. The Department also provides state-of-the-art rehabilitation services. A number of departmental faculty received grant funding from the National Institutes of Health and the Veteran’s Administration to study the role of genetics in stroke, epilepsy, and Parkinson’s disease, new brain imaging modalities in multiple sclerosis, biomarkers in multiple sclerosis, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism and intellectual disability. Many faculty are lead investigators in clinical trials to identify new therapeutic approaches for a broad range of neurological disorders. The individual would join a group of7 attending adultepileptologists, 2 epilepsy surgeons and 3 epilepsy/EEG fellows annually. The programincludes an EpilepsyMonitoring Unit for noninvasive and invasive surgical and diagnostic evaluations, a busy critical care continuous EEG monitoring service, Outpatient Epilepsy Center with innovative programs including a Women’s Epilepsy Program and First Seizure Clinic.Opportunities are available to join or develop clinical and basic science research related to epilepsy and to participate in administrative or educational leadership and in program development. Responsibilities include:ambulatory and continuous video-EEG interpretation, participation in epilepsy surgery evaluations, evaluation and management of epilepsy patients, and teaching of students, residents and fellows. The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the Department of Neurology faculty compensation program or pay from participation in Department of Neurology variable compensation programs. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range stated herein. For more information, please contact the hiring department. The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on the University of Maryland School of Medicine’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
