Job Description
The Equipment Coordinator will work in the laboratory to perform installation, validation, calibration, and troubleshooting of lab equipment, including balances, furnaces, ovens, and thermocouples. This role involves mechanical maintenance on devices such as vacuum pumps and blowers, managing both scheduled and non-scheduled tasks, maintaining calibration records, and purchasing lab supplies. Additionally, the role includes performing facility audits such as eyewash testing and safety shower testing.
ResponsibilitiesInstall, validate, calibrate, and troubleshoot lab equipment.Perform mechanical maintenance on vacuum pumps, blowers, etc.Manage scheduled and non-scheduled tasks, including equipment calibration and new instrumentation projects.Maintain calibration records and lab equipment inventory list.Purchase lab supplies as needed.Perform auditing of facility, including eyewash testing, safety shower testing, and gas monitor bump testing and calibration.Essential SkillsExperience with calibrating, validating, maintaining, and fixing various lab equipment.Proficiency with vacuum pumps, balances, furnaces, and ovens.Ability to maintain and update Calibration Records.Understanding of Metrology, Electrical, and Chemistry lab practices.Experience in lab management, lab maintenance, and equipment maintenance.Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working in a chemistry lab environment.Highly organized with great time management skills.Self-starter who can manage their own time and scheduling.Excellent communication skills for interacting with external vendors and internal teams.Work Environment
The Equipment Coordinator will work in both laboratory and manufacturing environments and will report directly to the Director of Technology and R&D. The role supports all chemistry laboratories with instrumentation, equipment, and inventory upkeep, requiring communication with external vendors and internal teams to manage projects effectively. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.00 - $45.00/hr.
