Responsibilities:

Maintain lab equipment in good working order following cGMP/GLP guidelinesRespond to equipment related issues in a timely and intelligent mannerDocument all equipment related activities to assure compliance with CLIA/CAP and ISO 13485 requirementsIntegrate the operations and oversight of equipment for molecular biology and genomics with existing LIMS systems and custom equipment management scriptsCode, test and implement custom workflows on automated liquid handling systems, optical plate readers and sequencersCreate and execute validation protocols for all new and modified equipment, software and instrument interfacesAuthor technical documents including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Validation Protocols and ReportsProvide training materials and assist with training of operators on the use of new equipment and processesServe as the primary point of contact for internal and external equipment providersEnsure that all work performed by external contractors is completed and documented  in accordance with the site quality system

Requirements:

Typically requires 0 to 2 years of previous professional experience. Experience working on laboratory equipment preferredExperience working in a clinically regulated environment is highly desirablePrior history working with Illumina NGS technology platforms (HiSeq, MiSeq, NextSeq and/or NovaSeq) and/or automated liquid handlers (Hamilton in particular)Excellent technical troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitudeGood communication skills including experience authoring verification/validation protocols, standard operating procedures/work instructions, CAPA investigations and Non-Conformance recordsData automation scripting experience (R, Python, shell/batch) is a plus

The estimated base salary range for the Equipment Engineer 1 role based in the United States of America is: $70,800 - $106,200. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
