Summary

Baxter Oxford have an opportunity for an Equipment Engineer to join their rapidly growing Compounding Unit. You will be responsible to conduct, coordinate and manage equipment related maintenance and improvement activities to ensure equipment availability, reliability and capability is continuously improved. You will focus on equipment related capital investment in association with the Compounding facilities and budget along with ensuring all equipment is calibrated and maintained in compliance with the requirements GMP and associated legislation.

Please note the core hours for this role will be 37.5 hours per week 8am to 4pm covering Mon-Fri. Weekend work will be required with time off given in lieu.

Role ResponsibilitiesTrouble shooting, fault finding & resolution to root cause of compounding related plant and equipmentOwnership of shutdown planning and execution, inclusive of shutdown and start up activities.Reliability of plant equipment, working relentlessly to ensure that plant availability & OEE metrics are continuously improvedTo deliver best in class equipment availability and reliability through reactive, preventative and predictive maintenance techniques.To plan and advise the installation, testing, operation, maintenance and repair of all facilities and equipment within the Thetford Compounding UnitTo develop and implement Preventative Maintenance procedures & schedules that assures equipment availability and reliability and product quality in line with the Compounding Engineering Strategy and Baxter Perfect Equipment requirements.Provide a standardised Perfect Equipment system across the Thetford Compounding Unit in collaboration with local operational staff and the UK Engineering Manager.To advise and coordinate the engineering activities associated with all Compounding plant and equipment, managing contractors, service providers, installation engineers, etc.To coordinate and direct engineering projects associated to the Thetford Compounding Unit such that they are completed on time and within budget.To perform administrative functions, review and write reports, and make decisions on the purchase of parts, equipment and servicesQualificationsA Craft Apprenticeship OR HNC preferred in Electrical or Mechanical EngineeringExperience of maintaining electrical and mechanical plant and equipment and / or a hands on multi-skilled engineer maintaining electrical, control, mechanical and pneumatic related plant and equipment.Maintenance scheduling within the Pharmaceutical / Medical Device industry.Experience of installation of new plant and equipmentExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsResponsive and flexible attitude to supporting various collaborator needsExperience of working as a support function with a high focus on reliabilityRapid appreciation of issues, sound judgement and problem solving skillsAbility to work under pressure and to tight deadlines within a dedicated teamSkills:Knowledge and experience of clean room operations and associated equipmentPractical Problem SolvingGMPProject ManagementRisk AssessmentFailure Mode Effect AnalysisNegotiation skills
