Meet the Recruiter: Joe Richie Explore Panasonic Careers Panasonic Video Our Mission: Create Technologies That Move Us Responsibilities Job Title: Equipment Engineer II Shift: Day Shift Department: Engineering Job Summary: The Equipment Engineer oversees the installation, modification, upgrade, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. The Engineer establishes programs and solutions for increasing uptime and for equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process. The individual is responsible for evaluating engineering test results for possible application to developments of systems or other uses. Essential Duties: Working alone or with engineering team members to complete projects to both improve processes in existing production lines and install/commission new production capacity Providing engineering support to the upgrading and maintenance of manufacturing equipment Determining feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors Providing technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations which affect long range plant and product engineering planning Preparing or directing preparation of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics Analyzing test data and reporting to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications Ability to cooperate and work with related departments including overseas Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements: To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees, wearing PPE is a possibility and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field Essential Qualifications: Experience working inter-departmentally (production, maintenance, etc.) in a high-volume manufacturing environment Strong project management and collaboration skills Strong verbal and written communication skills to facilitate successful interactions with team members and management Previous experience working in lithium-ion battery manufacturing Experience utilizing CAD software such as Solidworks Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English Preferred Qualifications: Background working in a high-volume manufacturing environment Ability to create and read P&IDs.
