Product Operations Test Engineering team is a passionate, highly skilled, hard-working group of engineers from a diverse set of backgrounds, covering all aspects of inspection and test equipment development, prototyping, modeling and simulation. Our mission is to optimize Apple production test lines in terms of productivity, automation, performance, and overall cost-effectiveness, by introducing new concepts for inspection and test equipment and methods, production test line architecture, etc. We are seeking a senior Engineering Manager to join the us, manage teams developing of top on-the line test equipment for Apple products and sub-systems, partner with X-functional teams, Integrators, and bring them all the way to production lines. The successful candidate should have experience with equipment development, and be self motivated, and able to drive cross-org communication and collaboration. **Description** In this highly impactful role, you will use your technical knowledge and managerial experience to lead teams of experienced engineers of multi-disciplines to develop and productize test equipment for Apple products and sub- assemblies. This looks like: • Managing and growing a multi-disciplinary engineering team • Collaborating with industrial designers, hardware, software, product integrity, and technology teams to define the vision of a product. • Driving the team into defining product specification (PRD) and the right system architecture • Assuming full ownership on the products, managing them through product life cycle. • Partnering with other teams to define and implement the roadmap for future factory, interns of automating the lines, reducing HC, etc. • Leading Ops owned development of future automated lines. • Cooperating with other engineering teams at Apple to validate the concepts and ensure best-in-class design. • Partnering with external vendors and manage them to complete manufacture the tools, and bring them into production lines. • Working collaboratively with our in-region Ops. teams, as well as vendors, to drive smooth assimilation of new tools and solutions in production factories • Traveling ~15% of the year to Asia to support equipment validation in engineering builds. **Minimum Qualifications** + 10+ years of experience managing development of Equipment (for test, inspection, or process) + BS in Mechanical engineering or similar, MS preferred. **Key Qualifications** **Preferred Qualifications** + Driving multiple teams and coordinating between them (managing X-functional tasks + Ability to manage different activities simultaneously + Good Micro/Macro skills (seeing the big picture while diving into selected needed topics) + Great communication skills: written and verbal + Excellent people management and time management skills + Experience with managing vendors + Eagerness to work in a dynamic environment and dependably complete individual work **Education & Experience** **Additional Requirements** **Pay & Benefits** + At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $219,300 and $378,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
