Equipment Maintenance Technician

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Trouble shooting of simple and complex equipment problems with respect to mechanical, electronic, electrical, and hydraulic sections down to individual component level with minimum supervision. Responsible for proactively searching, finding components required for upkeep and operation of equipment, getting the parts ordered with minimal disruption of production.  Perform routine, periodic testing of equipment to ensure key components functioning properly, responsible for checking own and others work.  Preventative maintenance, repair, installation, testing, and calibration of production and research equipment throughout company is performed on time with no extension.  Work with engineers and production personnel to modify and improve equipment performance. Keep and maintain records for equipment repair/preventive maintenance and management of the COGZ equipment database.  Scheduling of preventive maintenance procedures and records. Communication with production personnel to get feedback about equipment performance as well as to provide feedback about maintenance performed Review and evaluate effectiveness of existing PM frequency and make proposals to Department Managers for adjustment of PM schedules under changing business conditions. Maintain Maintenance Shop facilities for design and implementation of new tools for production. Preventive maintenance records are maintained properly with just-in-time record keeping practices.

 

Education & Experience

Technical AA degree in general engineering or equivalent industrial experience.

 8+ years applicable experience in manufacturing setting in relation to repair and maintenance aspects of production and testing equipment using power tools, lifting, and measurement/diagnostic tools.

 

Skills

Understanding of technical drawing and basic engineering principals to repair and maintain of production equipment and lead others to provide solutions. Demonstrated ability to trouble shoot and solve equipment problems effectively and timely manner in production setting. Experience in electrical and technical trouble shooting of equipment problems as well as move/transfer of equipment between the facilities.  Hands on and very direct approach to problems and needs of production demand.  Work as a part of a team or self-directed conditions to perform testing, including data analysis for equipment performance.  Demonstrated ability to lead people and achieve results through others Proficient computer skills, experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Email, internet access

Working Conditions

Manufacturing environment with some exposure to dust, noise, heat and chemicals

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift to 30 pounds with limited stress on your body. 

Manual dexterity required to repair machines

Must be able to wear appropriate PPE for the area

Safety Requirements
