Equipment Maintenance Technician

Micron is seeking a highly motivated Shift Equipment Technician to monitor, sustain, and improve equipment in their assigned area. This position requires collaboration with Shift Ops team members, area equipment engineers, and tool vendors to ensure efficient tool performance and maintenance in a dynamic, brand-new technology and manufacturing environment. 

Responsibilities:

Perform routine Preventative Maintenance on manufacturing processing equipment.Follow up on safety and quality-related issues immediately and work towards resolution with partners.Assist in documentation of hardware/process deviations and help prevent recurrence of issues hindering normal tool operation.Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the cleanroom area by adhering to housekeeping protocols, ensuring that every item is properly stored and organized. Additionally, participate in teams focused on enhancing equipment availability and implementing improvement initiatives.Attend Micron and/or Vendor training to improve understanding of various semiconductor tools.

Other Responsibilities:  

Willingness to work any shift and rotate as neededFlexibility to work 12-hour shifts (3 on/4 off and 4 on/3 off) and switch from days to nights every 4 monthsAbility to adapt to shift changes as required by business needsFlexible with job responsibilities and shift assignments

General & Physical Requirements:

Sustained Standing (up to 10 hrs. a shift)Walking: intermittent (1-5 miles per shift)Perform light assembly with hand-held tools weighing less than 3 lbs.The ability to work with various gases and chemicals used for production processes and maintenanceCapability to lift 25- 40 pounds regularlyThe ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spacesThe ability to wear personal protective gear including respirator breathing apparatus and donning clean room garments to protect product from being exposed to human contamination. The ability to perform tasks while bending, crouching, or kneelingCapability to climb ladders and work with arms raised above head levelThe ability to see and respond to potentially dangerous situations

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree in relevant technical fields such as Mechatronics, Electronics, or Robotics and/or 2 years of experience in maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, and/or technical military experience2 years of proven ability to perform preventative maintenance and repair on manufacturing equipment, ensuring minimal downtime, and maintaining industrial equipment, automation, or relevant military experience2 years of proven track record of adhering to safety policies and completing required safety training2 years of experience in using mechanical, electronic, and PC/software skills to fix and resolve manufacturing equipment issues2 years of ability to collaborate with team members and communicate to address manufacturing equipment performance and safety concerns

Preferred Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in leading projects related to manufacturing equipment maintenance and improvement, with a focus on meeting scope, schedule, and budget requirements2+ years of proficiency in creating and modifying manufacturing equipment procedures to enhance tool performance and safety2+ years of strong problem-solving skills with a history of identifying and resolving chronic equipment issues
