Equipment Operators are responsible for setting-up, operating, and maintaining operating equipment at the Distribution Center for Batteries Plus. The Equipment Operators ensures that the equipment runs smoothly and at capacity, and is properly maintained.\n

Responsibilities:\n

Essential\n\nDrives sit-down and stand-up forklifts, and other industrial vehicles such as cherry-pickers and automated pallet jacks as needed.\nMoves hazardous materials and maintains a clean work area.\nPallet building and pallet picks.\nStack crates, pallets or other material.\nEnsures the safe and efficient movement of goods.\nFollows safety regulations and company guidelines.\nChecks that loads are centered and properly stacked.\nDetermines when repairs need to be made on equipment.\nRotates stock so that oldest items are shipped or sold first.\nQuality assurance (QA) duties, including reporting product damage and shortages.\nUtilizes radio frequency (RF) scanning equipment to track inventory.\nShrink wraps goods or otherwise secures them and prepares them for transport.\nWeighs and records weights of products.\n\n

Operational Functions\n\nPerform all duties of Warehouse Associate with the ability to flex in\/out of Operations (Outbound) as business requires\nDriver continual improvement in both specific tasks and the overall warehouse operations.\nEnsure all work areas are orderly, clean and free of safety hazards\nReinforce policies and safety rules as necessary\n\n

Qualifications:\n\n6 months of machinery\/equipment experience. Thorough knowledge and understanding of moving products, loaded pallets and equipment safely and securely.\nAn employment record of punctuality and excellent attendance\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, training audits and procedure manuals\nProficiency in basic math\n\n

Preferred Qualifications:\n\nHigh School diploma or equivalent\nCan drive understanding (i.e. using visual aids, able to recognize when a group or individual is lost and needs more attention)\nDemonstrates self-directed and self-motivated, with good collaborative skills and a desire to help others improve and progress\nAbility to communicate effectively through oral and written communications\nDemonstrates sound judgment and organizational skills\nAbility to learn and adapt to new technology (WMS technology)\n\n
