Equipment Operator
Description

Schnabel is looking for an Equipment Operator to assist with the building of specialty underground structures. Our goal is to find an Equipment Operator with experience operating small to heavy equipment. You will operate skid steers, mini-excavators, grout plants, pumps, silos, and other equipment. As you learn and show proficiency you will be able to grow into larger equipment such as drill rigs and cranes.

Schnabel was founded in 1959 in Washington DC and has grown to become one of the nation’s top geostructural contractors. We are family owned and operated with a focus on safety, quality of work, and growth. With a national footprint it’s sometimes difficult to maintain the small company feel, but we’ve been successful in preserving that part of our culture. Job Responsibilities

Be responsible for safe and proper operation of equipmentFollow all of Schnabel’s safety regulations Complete inspection and maintenance logs, and documentation as requiredClean equipment and maintain in proper working conditionWork closely with site leadership to ensure that scope of work is being met within a timely scheduleManage your scope of work appropriately to minimize job costAlways wear appropriate PPE as assigned by job site supervisorTravel with crews within a regional area

 

Qualifications

Proven ability to operate mentioned equipment proficiently and safelyMinimum of 2 years of documented experience operating equipment proficientlyHigh level of focus in a construction environment that is very busy and noisyAbility to lift and carry 80 pounds of materials over rough terrainRegional travel and the ability to stay out of town frequentlyHigh school diploma or equivalentDriver’s license and a safe driving record – preferably with CDL

 

Pay will be based on local union wage scales.
