Palm Harbor Golf Club is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of Golf Course Equipment Operator I. The Golf Course Equipment Operator I is a key member of the course maintenance team and is responsible for the care and maintenance of the golf course. The Golf Course Equipment Operator I will report to the Superintendent and must be willing to take direction from the Assistant Superintendent, 2nd Assistant Superintendent, and Head Mechanic.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

Must possess the ability to design, coordinate, and maintain landscaping on the golf course by weedeating, edging, walk mowing, pulling weeds, and more as directed by the Superintendent Must be willing to learn how to operate tools, methods and materials used in grounds, landscaped area construction and maintenance work Must be willing to operate all tools and equipment related to golf course operations with attention to detail and safety to themselves, golfers, and fellow employees Must be willing to keep equipment clean and assist with keeping maintenance facility clean Ability to give oral and written instructions Must be willing to learn seeding, fertilizing, mulching, and general ground preparation for restoration and renovation Must be dependable

Responsibilities:

Operates motorized vehicles Maintains clean and organized works areas on the golf course and maintenance facility Mows greens, aprons, fairways, roughs, tees, and other areas Waters tees, greens and fairways; operates irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional water Repairs the irrigation system, pipes and irrigation heads as needed Grades and prepares soil base, lays sod and seeds greens, tees and fairways Trims and prunes hedges and shrubbery; cleans flower beds Applies pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers to the golf course Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
