Blattner is looking for Operators with proven experience performing the tasks of stripping, backfill and reclaim.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
MOTOR GRADER (BLADE)
Operates equipment generally on uneven surfaces to maintain haul roads and assist in building new roads.Drives blade and moves levers to regulate height and angle of the blade, lower scarifier that loosens packed soil to permit grading, and tilt front wheels of grader when making sharp turns.Drives blade in successive passes over working areas usually observing reference stakes to the level surface to specified grade. Feels levers and sound of the engine to determine the depth of cut.Operates equipment safely in both forward and reverse directions in close quarters with other heavy equipment.May perform fine or rough grading.Greases, oils, and performs minor repairs on equipment.DOZER
Fastens attachments to the tractor with clevis or wedge pin hitches.Connects hydraulic hoses, belts, mechanical linkage, or power takeoff shaft to tractor to provide power to raise, lower, or tilt attachment.Moves levers to control toolbars, carriers, and disks.Moves levers and depresses pedals to maneuver tractor and raise, lower, and tilt attachment to the clear right-of-way. Feels lever and listens for stalling action of the engine to estimate the depth of cut.Operates bulldozer in successive passes over terrain to raise or lower terrain to specified grade following markings on grade stakes or hand signals.Greases, oils, and performs minor repairs on the tractor.EXCAVATOR
Operates hydraulic excavator/backhoe to load earth into trucks or into stockpiles Excavation may be mass excavation or a closely engineered trench for pipe placement Performs routine maintenance on equipment such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning Greases, oils, and performs minor repairs on equipmentWork Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
