Job Title: Equipment Purchasing Intern

Job Summary

Responsible for tagging and auditing store equipment at our retail locations throughout the summer months. Travel to and from stores including overnight stays in our eight-state region.  Work will be about 90% in retail locations and 10% in office.

Reporting Relations

Accountable and Reports to: Equipment Purchasing Agent; Group Vice President, Equipment Purchasing

Positions that Report to you:  None

Primary Duties

Verify the equipment at each store Tag equipment you verify by placing a provided tag on each item and recording it. Perform audit procedures on store equipment and make changes to each store’s equipment asset listing Complete and submit weekly equipment change report per location Assist the Equipment Department personnel in researching the location of equipment and processing the equipment changes Perform equipment audit for Hy-Vee owned equipment located at warehouses and other non-retail locations Validate expenses weekly Work with 2-3 others on a daily basis Reports to work when scheduled and on time

Secondary Duties

Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.

Education and Experience

High school diploma and enrolled in a college or university. 1-2 years of Hy-Vee experience preferred, if not, at least 2 years of college completed.   

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Computer with skills such as Outlook, Word, Excel

Valid drivers’ license

Good verbal and written communications skills

Detail oriented, strong problem solving and analytical skills

Self-starter

An accounting major is helpful, but not required

Must be minimum of 18 years of age

Physical Requirements

Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near and far range with or without correction

Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Work Environment

The duties of this position are performed in a retail and office setting.  There is significant pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a day.
