About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Equity Research Analyst to join our dynamic investment team. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality equity research across Malaysia and Asia, with the goal of contributing to the outperformance of AIA Bhd’s equity portfolio relative to its benchmark. The role will evolve to include portfolio management responsibilities over time.

Job Responsibilities

Conduct in-depth equity research and analysis on assigned sectors and stocks across local and regional markets.

Produce insightful monthly reports covering market trends, fund performance, and investment outlooks.

Develop detailed research reports on individual stocks and industry sectors.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders on strategic investment projects and initiatives.

Ensure strict adherence to investment guidelines, risk parameters, and regulatory requirements.

Support and eventually lead portfolio management activities, including asset allocation and stock selection.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.

CFA charterholder or holder of an advanced degree in Investment, Finance, or Portfolio Management is highly desirable.

Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in equity research or portfolio management, with a strong track record in local and Asian markets.

Deep understanding of capital markets, financial modeling, and company valuation techniques.

Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills.

High attention to detail and a strong sense of compliance and integrity.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable working with investment-related technology platforms.

Commercially savvy with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Experience in managing regional equity portfolios is a significant advantage.
