The Equity Trading Support Analyst provides front-line trading application support for our Institutional Equity Trading desk, working closely with our sales traders, principal traders, program traders, and electronic desk. The Trading Support Analyst also partners with other areas of Baird including regulatory, risk, and operations to deliver trading technology solutions. The ideal candidate must possess the ability to quickly assess potential problems and identify solutions, the ability to prioritize tasks, and strong communication skills in high-pressure, team-oriented environment.
As an Equity Trading Support Analyst, you may:
Be responsible for real-time support of critical trading systems and traders. Monitor, identify, diagnose, and ultimately resolve systems issues in a time-sensitive environment.
Proactively engage traders to maintain and improve support levels.
Be responsible for regular status reports to manager and ensure effective communication of pertinent information to key parties.
Act as Subject Matter Expert regarding use and maintenance/support of trading systems, street and client-connectivity, messaging systems, use of IOI’s/AT’s, and trade workflow. Maintain controls around functional attributes and user entitlements.
Be responsible for the creation and ongoing maintenance of systems / entitlements and support documentation as well as providing user training on new functions or procedures.
Be responsible for system upgrade and testing in UAT before moving to production.
Be a key resource for product owners in defining and prioritizing vendor enhancement requests.
Serve as lead resource or business unit contact regarding trading systems for cross functional projects across the firm.
Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors, counterparties, and Baird’s internal departments including Risk, Compliance and Operations.
Have an awareness and understanding of industry best practices and implement, as appropriate. Develop outside relationships to support this goal.
Perform quarterly maintenance on IER business continuity plan.
Minimal travel may be required.
After hours support may be required at times.

What we look for:
Bachelor’s degree required. Computer Science or MIS preferred.
1-2 years’ experience in financial services or IT support role preferred.
Preferred understanding of FIX protocol, including FIX log evaluation and FIX connectivity management.
Awareness and understanding of industry best practices and implement, as appropriate. Develop outside relationships to support this goal.
Ability to tolerate peak workloads, to deal with constant interruptions and to maintain flexibility and composure in a high volume, high-intensity environment.
Experience in handling highly confidential information important.
Ability to communicate information clearly, concisely, logically and with confidence. Proven ability to effectively exchange ideas and message with associates of varying levels of knowledge in a clear, understanding way. Ability to influence without authority.
Superior problem-solving skills, ability to identify creative solutions addressing complex business processes.
Detail oriented and possesses exceptional organizational, critical thinking, problem solving, and follow up skills.
Ability to work and grow in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Compensation and Benefits:
$70,000 -$80,000 annual base salary range
