The role
To provide effective, commercial advice and coaching to managers of varying levels within Bupa to assist them in resolving their people issues effectively, independently and within Bupa risk appetite.
You will provide effective case management ensuring timely and commercially focussed resolution to issues. Accurate recording of case work, including notes, on the relevant case management system and all associated documentation relating to individual cases which must be stored on individual case files.
The role sits across all Bupa Provision based roles, therefore casework is triaged to ER Consultants according to business requirements and priorities.
You'll help us make health happen by
• Working as part of a team managing a broad and varied complex caseload across all Bupa Provisions locations (and more broadly if operationally required) in order to bring cases to an effective conclusion
• Ensuring all cases are advised on and managed in line with company policies and procedures and relevant legislation
• Coaching and influencing managers of varying seniority across the business
• Escalating and alerting high risk cases or non-conformation of process in a timely manner to the Advice Team Manager in line with the internal escalation process.
• Ability to multi task, work to tight deadlines, prioritise under pressure and use own initiative
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a focus on resolution and a flexible can do attitude
• Actively manage cases and working collaboratively to ensure joined up thinking/advice.
• Provide accurate and timely advice taking into account the business and commercial requirements on all aspects of employment law including: Disciplinary/Grievance, Discrimination, Whistle-blowing etc.
• Understand the risk and regulatory frameworks (including SMCR) within which the business operates to embed people risk and conduct interventions to ensure confidence that our people are adhering to the mandatory requirements of their roles.
• Provides seamless interface to other service providers such as Occupational Health, Employment Legal and Bupa's income protection insurance provider
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role
Mandatory Qualifications / Accreditations:
• CIPD qualified or comparable business experience.
Desired
• A good understanding of sector regulatory bodies (eg CQC, FCA, PRA).
Required
• Significant experience case managing multiple complex employee relations cases
• Exposure to a wide range of ER issues
• Excellent written and oral skills and ability to provide concise and clear advice
• Commercially focussed

• Good IT skills
• Current employment law knowledge
• Experience in drafting letters and accurately describing disciplinary allegations and outcomes, grievance findings and recommendations and capability process documentation (ill health and performance)
