Functioning as an Ergonomic Specialist (Contract), the successful candidate will be working as part of a cross functional team responsible for providing regional technical support for new and current vehicle programs at FCA Brampton Assembly Plant.
The position will support the assembly plant and product launch teams for new vehicle launch and current operations. Performing virtual and physical ergonomic assessments using standard ergonomic analysis tools and/or Digital Human Modeling to identify and prioritize ergonomic risk factors to comply with corporate guidelines and standards to improve operator efficiency, quality, reduce cost and improve operator injury and safety. Comprehend lessons learned and technical specifications to provide input into product design and manufacturing.
The successful candidate must understand vehicle assembly and associated processes and include the following:
Perform preliminary and secondary ergonomic evaluations using digital simulation and ergonomic analysis tools to identify risk and recommendations for resolution Ability to meet tight deadlines, strong interpersonal and communication skills, be detail oriented, and can work independently and in teams Ability to lead technical teams and communicate practical recommendations effectively to all levels of the organization Engage with plant ergonomic specialist to assist with implementing ergonomic solutions for current plant ergonomic issues and drive remediation of issues to product design and manufacturing engineers, as requested Practical and technical problem-solving ability Participate and lead ergonomic innovation projects, as required Productivity initiatives to reduce/eliminate non-standard operators, as required Review current and proposed products and layouts to confirm compliance with ergonomic guidelines Work with and provide ergonomic assistance to pant WSIB and medical Attend tooling reviews and buy-offs at offsite locations as requiredFCA Canada Inc. is committed to providing accommodation for people with accessibility needs due to disabilities in all aspects of the hiring process. Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required in Kinesiology, Safety, Engineering or related field Minimum 18 months of occupational safety & health or engineering experience in a manufacturing environment Strong understanding of local OSHA regulations and requirements Willingness to work across shifts and additional hours as required Effective written and verbal communication skills Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills Computer literacy including proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite Legally eligible to work in CanadaAt Stellantis, we assess candidates based on qualifications, merit and business needs.
