ES&H Manager II

**Amentum** has an **ES&H Manager II** opening at our **Springfield, VA** client facility. The ES&H Manager II is responsible for planning, directing, and managing the environmental, safety and health (ES&H) programs under senior management direction. Recognizes, evaluates, recommends and implements policies and procedures to assure awareness of and compliance with ES&H requirements of the organization.
Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess an active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.
**Main Responsibilities:**
· Under limited supervision, manages one or more ES&H functions within an ES&H department or group within a subsidiary.
· May manage the environmental safety and health function(s) on a large project.
· Is fully competent in most aspects of the job.
· Work is complex and requires independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
· Uses independent judgment and provides solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
· Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
· Responsible for monitoring and preventing chemical, biological, physical hazards and diseases present throughout work sites.
· Reviews and incorporates health standards published by regulatory authorities.
· Ensures that quality control procedures are established to monitor all aspects of regulations.
· Provides all necessary reports to Federal, State and local agencies.
· Directs audits of health and safety program to identify and control significant loss producing exposure.
· Must keep fully informed on all existing and proposed changes in occupational health and safety regulations.
· Develops and provides basic ES&H training to employees.
· Promotes communication programs to enhance and encourage employee awareness of accident and fire prevention, industrial hygiene and environmental compliance.
· Plan develops and directs the personnel within the Environmental Health and Safety function of the organization.
· Provides leadership direction to management and professional personnel of the organization.
**Minimum Requirements:**
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environment, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry or an applied science field
· Experience: This is a management level position with 10 years of experience, including three years of management experience.
· Certification in CIH, CSP, CHMM, or equivalent .
**Work Environment:**
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizational skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
