The anticipated salary range for this role is between $123,000.00 and $180,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
**Role Description**
The ESG Data Manager will play a key role in supporting implementation of the corporate sustainability strategy of the Americas Division by working with business partners to identify sustainability/ESG data needs, ensuring data governance protocols are introduced and adhered to, and facilitating ESG metrics and indicators reporting while coordinating across multiple workstreams. This role will also support development of tactical and long-term enterprise-wide solutions for holistic sustainability data capture and reporting and advancing team initiatives in support of business objectives and mission.
**Role Objectives**
Data Management
+ Oversee the collection storage and validation of ESG data from internal and external sources
+ Ensure the accuracy completeness and consistency of ESG data across platforms
+ Implement and maintain data management frameworks
+ Work on Data management tools such as Collibra Power BI identify KDE establish Data lineage for Sustainability data
Data Governance and Reporting
+ Define and enforce data governance policies and standards for ESG data
+ Monitor data quality metrics and resolve issues related to data accuracy and completeness
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
+ Work closely with various departments egData Governance compliance finance procurement to gather relevant ESG data
+ Communicate data requirements issues and outcomes with internal and external stakeholders including ESG raters and rankers
+ Collaborate with sustainability finance and IT teams to improve data processes and reporting efficiency
+ Collaborate with IT teams to ensure ESG data systems are integrated with broader organizational data systems
+ Work with business partners to support the development testing and implementation of tactical and longterm solutions for sustainability/ESG data collection management and reporting This includes work on the initiative to the ESG data platform development
Compliance and Assurance
+ Support internal and external audit processes related to ESG data
+ Develop and conduct training on sustainability/ESG data collection governance and reporting processes as required
**Qualifications and Skills**
+ 5-7 years of comparable or relevant experience, with demonstrated data management or data governance experience.
+ Skilled at working with multiple and complex datasets, particularly datasets relevant to sustainability
+ Knowledge of data governance best practice and processes
+ Proficiency in data management and analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar software.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage key working relationships and facilitate coordination across cross-functional teams
+ Knowledge/interest in ESG/sustainability (Scope 1,2,3 emission calculation methodology) strongly preferred
+ Excellent problem-solving, organizational and time-management skills
+ Ability to take initiative, anticipate needs, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities while maintaining quality output
