Job Description

As the Esports Business Intelligence Specialist, you will play a crucial role in driving data-driven decisions across Ubisoft's esports and competitive gaming ecosystem. You will leverage your expertise to develop and optimize analytics tools and dashboards that deliver valuable insights into performance, audience engagement, and monetization strategies. This role requires a strong understanding of the esports landscape combined with advanced skills in data analysis, architecture, and BI tools.

In this position, you'll collaborate closely with internal teams, including marketing, production, community engagement, and Ubisoft’s data departments, to provide actionable insights, establish best practices, and support global data strategies. You will help transform data into strategic opportunities that drive growth, improve decision-making, and keep Ubisoft’s esports initiatives at the forefront of the industry.

What you’ll do

Develop and manage BI dashboards and reporting systems to track esports performance, audience behavior, and monetization opportunities.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, esports production, finance) to define KPIs and establish metrics that measure the success of various esports initiatives.Partner with Ubisoft’s internal data teams (Data Office, Data Science, Data Engineering, Data Operations) to ensure alignment with global data strategies.Build and refine data pipelines that aggregate data from various sources, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and accessibility.Conduct deep-dive analyses on player engagement, viewership trends, audience retention, and content performance to help drive marketing and operational decisions.Support the design and implementation of predictive models for esports viewership, revenue forecasting, player retention, and customer segmentation.Analyze the impact of marketing campaigns, in-game items, content drops, and other esports-related initiatives, providing insights to marketing teams.Ensure the automation of reporting processes to deliver timely insights, and simplify complex datasets for non-technical stakeholders.Monitor key industry trends and emerging technologies, adapting BI tools and methodologies to improve reporting and analytical capabilities.Identify areas for operational improvement based on data analysis, collaborating with internal stakeholders to drive efficiencies in esports and competitive gaming operations.Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership, guiding business strategies and helping to refine future esports products and experiences.

QualificationsA first experience in data analytics, BI development, or a related role, ideally within esports, gaming, or entertainment industries.Proficiency in BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.Strong knowledge of data visualization principles and the ability to present complex data in an understandable format for diverse stakeholders.Advanced skills in SQL, Python, R, or other data querying and scripting languages.Experience working with cloud-based data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Google BigQuery, Azure) and ETL processes.Proven experience working with large datasets, including data cleansing, transformation, and modeling.Ability to communicate complex insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Passion for esports, competitive gaming, and the gaming community.
