The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with a strong focus on ESRI technologies. This role involves leading the design, development, implementation, and support of complex GIS applications and solutions that support various business objectives. The Senior ESRI GIS Developer will work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, provide strategic guidance, and deliver high-quality GIS solutions that leverage cutting-edge technology.
The challenge:
Lead the design and development of robust GIS applications using ESRI technologies, including ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS ServerCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define project objectives, requirements, and technical specifications for GIS initiativesCreate and manage geospatial databases, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and security of spatial dataDevelop advanced geospatial analysis and modeling solutions to support decision-making processesBuild and maintain user-friendly web and mobile mapping applications that enhance data accessibility and visualization for end usersIntegrate GIS applications with other business systems and software to streamline workflows and improve efficiencyMentor and guide junior GIS developers and analysts, promoting best practices in GIS development and data managementConduct performance tuning and optimization of GIS applications to ensure high availability and responsivenessStay current with industry trends and emerging GIS technologies, recommending innovative solutions to enhance GIS capabilitiesPrepare technical documentation and user manuals, and provide training and support to staff on GIS tools and applicationsWhat Sets You Apart: (Basic Qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree with eight plus (8+) years of prior relevant experience. May consider more years of relevant experience in lieu of degreeExpertise in ESRI ArcGIS software stack (ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Server).Proficient in GIS programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or C# for application development and automation.Strong understanding of geospatial data formats, projections, and analysis techniques.Experience with database management systems, such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL, in a GIS contextProven ability to lead projects, manage timelines, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environmentExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholdersStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse audiencesWorking knowledge of agile and waterfall development methodologiesAbility to set, manage, and meet deadlines for functional teams while maintaining composure under pressureWillingness to work some weekends as neededYou Might also have:
