Estate Manager
Superb position for a knowledgeable and hands-on Estate Manager to oversee the running a of beautiful estate.

Job Summary:
Our client is looking to take on an experienced and Estate Manager who can assist with slimming down and managing contractors and be hands-on with maintaining and enhancing the estate. You will be supported by various contractors for specialised tasks, a full-time gardener for the manicured areas of the estate and report into the estate director.

Duties

Maintain an overarching understanding of projects across the estate and able to provide concise status reports to the estate director when requested Work with other staff on estate and wider family office to coordinate larger maintenance or construction projects Assist with the planning and execution of new landscape projects Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and preservation of local wildlife Report on functionality of estate gateways and assist with scheduling planned and unplanned maintenance and servicing Implement wildlife management strategies to handle the presence of pheasants, squirrels, deer, and other local wildlife, ensuring a balanced ecosystem and minimizing damage to the grounds. Be instrumental in the development of these specialist landscapes by introducing and maintaining new planting, flowers and trees

In conjunction with a full-time gardener:

Understand the complex requirements of large specialist trees and be instrumental in their care and management. Maintain paths, driveways, and other hard landscaping to ensure safety and aesthetic appeal. Responsible for the upkeep of all Estate landscape areas including mature woodlands, lawns, fields, pond, and a developing wildflower meadow, orchard, ensuring healthy growth of vegetables and fruits Monitor the health of plants and trees, and treat pests, diseases, and other plant issues Manage irrigation systems to ensure efficient water use, including scheduling planned and unplanned servicing Operate and maintain a range of machinery and tools, including tractors, chainsaws, and irrigation equipment Ensure all outdoor furniture and decorative elements are clean and well-maintained Ensure integrity of property perimeter fencing and hedging

Candidate requirements:

Proven groundskeeping experience, ideally in a large private estate or public park Strong horticultural and landscape maintenance knowledge Proficiency in operating landscaping machinery and hand tools Ability to perform physically demanding tasks Experience managing external contractors and coordinating work projects Horticulture or land management qualifications are advantageous Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and contractor liaison Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Offer dependent upon receipt of a clean Enhanced DBS Check (to be organised by employer)
