Mechanically biased Engineer to conduct both reactive and planned maintenance on a wide variety of plant and equipment, including but not limited to heating, ventilation, water systems, decontamination plant and medical gasses.

Main Duties

To prioritise own workload, working under own initiative with minimum supervision and within a team, conduct reactive and planned works to a high standard and conforming to legislations, maintaining a safe environment for staff, visitors and patients of a busy acute general hospital estate.

Plumbing and heating skills and experience are highly desirable. An adaptable, flexible person with a "can do" first time repair attitude. Willing to learn new skills and participate in the shift rota, including out of hours on call. Training will be provided where required, sometimes away from home for short periods. Occasionally working under pressure, people skills are important, as well as the ability to prioritise workloads and work under your own initiative and within the estates team.
